Lawrence Fabric & Metal Structures, Inc.was recognized with three 2012 International Achievement Awards (IAA) for design excellence in specialty fabrics applications, that took place Nov. 7 at the IFAI Expo Americas 2012, at the Boston Convention & Exhibition Center in Boston, Mass.
Lawrence received an Award of Excellence for its St. Louis Science Center project. The project was recognized in the competition’s Fabric Graphics category. In addition, two Outstanding Achievement Awards were received for the St. Louis Zoo Sea Lion Arena and Mark’s Park Amphitheatre projects. These projects were recognized in the competition’s Tensile Structures, Under 6458 square feet and the Free- Standing, Under 1205 square feet categories.
IFAI received a total of 335 entries from 14 countries that were submitted for 30 categories in this year’s competition. Winners were selected based on complexity, design, workmanship, uniqueness and function. Judges included industry experts, editors, architects, educators and design professionals who were chosen for their knowledge in a particular field of study or product area.
The International Achievement Awards competition is sponsored by IFAI, a not-for-profit trade association whose 2,000 member companies represent the international specialty fabrics marketplace. Photos and detailed project descriptions of the winners are available Here.
