Bass Pro Shop

The new Bass Pro Shop located in Memphis, Tennessee requested an eye catching custom Sunglass Hut specifically designed to replicate an old barn. The goal was to have this structure be the focal point of the store to promote their custom fit sunglasses.

Lawrence fabricated and installed a custom fabric interior commercial gable canopy structure, 46’ 6” square at the base and 30’-6” tall from the floor to top of the tower, 22’ from bottom of the awning to top of the tower and is covered with Ivory Sunbrella Firesist. Due to the massive size, the canopy structure was fabricated in 4 sections and transported to the site to be mechanically fastened together. The aluminum structure sections were attached to existing steel posts with the help of a large crane.

The top of the structure included an aluminum tower, 9’9” wide x 6’ 6” tall with windows that have 3MM clear acrylic sheets attached. One side of the structure included a truss frame to be able to support a 9’ 6” x 8’ illuminated sign by others that weighed 400lbs. Additional earthquake and engineering requirements were needed.

The client was extremely pleased with the stunning Sunglass Hut and how closely it resembled a barnlike structure. The store shoppers definitely gravitate to that part of the store which ultimately sells their custom made sunglasses.
